Injury Prevention & Active Rehabilitation functional training was developed as a form of active rehabilitation and targets the movements that everyday people encountered on a daily basis. By utilizing and incorporating this style of training, it inevitably leads to better muscular balance and joint stability, definitely impacting the number of injuries sustained and an individual’s performance in all sports.
In addition to developing a proper rehab program, we also offer Chiropractic Care, Therapeutic Sports Massage, & Infrared / Cold Laser Treatment to accelerate the regeneration process.
Experienced care for athletic injuries
Athletes of all ages and types come to us when they are injured during play. Whether they are casual weekend warriors or competitive school athletes, they all want to get out of pain and back to the competition as quickly and safely as possible.
Icon Sports Alliance offers physical and sports therapy experience to help you get back in the game.
Sports rehabilitation and injury prevention
Sport-specific exercises and functional training are all a part of the athlete’s plan of care. Our therapists’ goal is to facilitate early return to sports participation. We work closely with school athletic trainers, when needed, to determine goals and provide consistent care. Athletes return to the game with greater knowledge of their injury and a plan for future injury prevention.
We evaluate and treat postsurgical and nonsurgical orthopedic injuries using modalities, exercise and active manual therapy – hands-on techniques to restore movement and function to the bones, joints, ligaments and muscles.
Active manual therapy
Manual therapy is a generic term for any hands-on treatment provided by a physical therapist. Our therapists are trained in many different hands-on therapies – massage therapy, strain-counterstrain, muscle energy technique, joint mobilization, shiatsu, joint manipulation and myofascial release. We complement these hands-on therapies with various modalities and therapeutic exercise.
Dynamic “core” stabilization
Used for both postsurgical and nonsurgical patients, dynamic stabilization exercises target the muscles of your trunk – the core that keeps your spine and body stable. They help you stay balanced when you move. If your core muscles are strong and they contract when they should, your posture is better, your body is balanced, your movement is more efficient and powerful and you are less likely to get injured.
At Icon Sports Alliance, we believe in each individual’s potential to take charge of their health. Through gentle care and education, our top-notch therapists will guide you through the pain and disability of your sports injury, restore your health and optimize your potential to play and function better. We will teach you how to cope with the sports injury of today. More importantly, we will teach you how to prevent sports injuries tomorrow.
